"MISSOURI COMPROMISE" SHOULD HAVE FREED DRED AND HARRIET SCOTT

Did not realize that the "Missouri Compromise" of 1820, alone, which enabled Missouri's statehood (with Maine's), above its 36'30" Mason-Dixon Survey Line, should have freed Dred and Harriet Scott, from slavery simply by virtue of mere existence. Hence, the Scotts' "freedom suit," decades later, 1857, should have been unnecessary--but for political and legal skulduggery. Yet, what must be, must be:its iconic loss in the U. S. Supreme Court, catalyzed civil war's wastes, and Freedom War's gains for my 4 millions of African-descendant forebears. http://www.history.com/topics/missouri-compromise
