DID JESUS COMMIT SUICIDE?

DID JESUS COMMIT SUICIDE ? "Did Jesus commit suicide ?" That deep question quivered quietly amidst our KC preachers' breakfast table like the quiescent shimmers of shaken purple jello. Then he asked us again, tempting us: "Did Jesus commit suicide ?" The Baptist pastor who was asking this repetitive series of provocative theological, philosophical questions at the core of our faith, was my friend, our friend, the late Rev .Aaron Neal, 'ole school' pastor of churches in Kansas, Missouri, California , North Carolina, at least. Some said yes. Some said no. Most said nothing either way, but smiled. Jesus said : "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as ransom for many." Mark 10:45. Jesus also said of his life : "No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This authority I received of my Father." John 10:18 Other scriptures also treat of this question. Each may choose its own. What do you say ?
