'CHURLISH' MAN, ARISTOTLE "NICOMACHEAN ETHICS"

"Churlish and contentious...is the man who quarrels with everything " says Aristotle in "Nicomachean Ethics." That perfectly summarizes the obnoxious character of our current President who is disputing with almost every one: Democrat or Republican, domestic or foreign, friend or foe, seemingly; including his wife and family! Aristotle goes on: "...let us now describe those who pursue truth or falsehood alike in words and deeds and in the claims put forward. The boastful man, then, is thought to be apt to claim the things that bring glory, when he has not got them, or to claim more of them than he has or belittle it...[E]ach man speaks and acts and lives in accordance with his character, if he is 'not' acting for some ulterior object. And falsehood is 'in itself ' mean and culpable, and truth noble and praiseworthy." P. 998-999, THE BASIC WORKS OF ARISTOTLE (1941, 2001)
