AFRICAN AMERICAN INSURGENCY

AFRICAN AMERICAN INSURGENCY For much of our American history, insurgency was defined as black persons trying to free themselves of shackles: of slavery, ignorance, economic dependency upon whites for anything: food, shelter, clothing, education, religion, social life, love. Many succeeded . Most did not. The "did not's" and "have not's" are still here, with us, among, between us. Each generation of blacks must recommit itself to appropriate insurgent tactics till total freedom is attained by more black people in American society, since even now, disproportionately power, wealth, privileges are preserved for whites. Teach your children how you got over, made it on over, and how their forbears did, too, so that their own insurgency may prove to be true !
