PARADOX AND IRONY

PARADOX AND IRONY Paradox is powerful ! Appearing like magic out of nowhere , it is totally unpredictable . Therefore not particularly concerned about where it lands, when, why, nor on whom or what, paradox does its thing. Irony is inscrutable. Paradox is impenetrable . Some people limit paradoxes to statements. I say that paradoxes are much broader; including nonverbal situations as well, such as science. Such paradoxes are found in comets with diamonds from lost planets. Or stars that emit no visible light. Or rain or snow that falls, but does not hit the ground. Irony belies expectations like paradoxes , but is more earth-based, than heavenly-bound, it seems to me. The use of either communicates intended meaning. Hoisted on one own petard is irony. A self-hoisting petard is paradox.
