Minerals result from major geological processes, pressures, and accretions going back millions and billions of years, whether diamonds, silver, gold, emeralds, lapis lazuli, rubies, marble, granite or others. One must mine underground, deep in the earth to dislodge these riches, and refinements. As with minerals of the past, so with man's past history, language, literature, civilization.
