Meet our primeval "hidden figure," Kemetic Sheshat, consort of Thoth, woman of the South , goddess of writing, mathematics, astronomy, astrology. She preceded THOT in Kemetic (Egyptian) cosmology. They are allied as female and male forces or gods.
"The ancient Egyptians credited Jehwty (Thoth) the ibis-headed moon god, also symbolized by a baboon, with the invention of hieroglyphics, 'divine words.' This totemic god was the patron of intellectual life. He was the patron of writers, collectively referred to as his companions. Jehwty was also lord of statistics, responsible for all that needed counting , such as months, years, etc. Lastly, he was the god of magicians....
