"FAKE NEWS" IS NOT NEW HERE Fake news is not new at all. Neither are other fakes that are commonly taught to American children. For example: 0. Santa Claus 0. The tooth fairy 0. George Washington 's cherry tree 0. Innate "white" supremacy 0. Innate "black" inferiority 0. "Indians" and "Mexicans" are uncivilized 0. "Good Indian" is a dead Indian 0. IQ tests measure intelligence There are many more examples. But, these few, short-hand, fake mythologies, pedagogies, make my point. They do great harm to our children and to national character. They are false programming that leads to the production of mass: ignorance; hysteria; murderers; sadists; xenophobists; racists; fascists; militarists; nihilists; anarchists; atheists; avarice; obstructionists. Fake whatever explains much that is wrong in America today, in many respects, if not in every respect.
