WATCHING AND WAITING FOR GOD
WATCHING AND WAITING ON GOD
As I read a chapter in AFRICAN PHILOSOPHY: THE PHARAONIC PERIOD 2780-330 B.C. by Dr. Theophile Obenga, entitled, "Variations in the length of day and night at different times of the year," wherein he transliterates and translates a text, "Kemi," which sets forth the lengths of each day and night, of each season, not only do I marvel that there were those who did that, I am reminded of the Bible texts, urging us to watch and wait:

Micah 7:7, "But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God, my Savior; my God will hear me."

Proverbs 8:34, "Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway."

Psalms 130:6, "I wait for the Lord, more than a watchman wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning."
