28TH USCT'S CHAPLAIN GARLAND WHITE

I have at least twice encountered Chaplain Garland White of the 28th USCT in my Civil War readings on black troops. But his meeting his mother from whom he had been sold away in his youth years later at the war's end in Richmond, Virginia, on April 3, 1865, was too much ! Hallelujah! http://civilwartalk.com/threads/richmond-va-1865-this-is-your-mother-garland-who-has-spent-20-years-of-grief-about-her-son.102108/
