Do not confuse symbols with substance; neither conflate symbols with substance ; nor elevate symbols over substance.
Substance is material. Symbols are immaterial, representative of other.
That is why the Bible elevates the spirit of the law over the letter in its teachings. Spirit is of God. Symbols are man-made. What is of God is accessible to all, while man's are accessible only to some, only few.
That is why it is important to see through symbols and appearances, and to look to its divine substance.

THOUGHT AND SPIRIT
Thought arises within. Suggestion comes from without. They may seem to feel alike. But they are not exactly alike.
"Thoughts" are engendered by will, by character, by experience, and by exertion . Suggestion or intuition, by contrast, are not volitional, but they seem to appear like magic "from out of thin air," from out of somewhere, subtly, quietly, phenomenally.
We may sometimes feel the presence of a suggestion, intuition, "spirit," later, when we are prone to say, "Something told me not to..." or inversely say, "Something told me to." That "something" is the "Spirit" of God, our conduit in life.
Thoughts are often equated with the spirit of a man, woman, child.
"For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person that is within him. So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God."
1 Cor. 2:11.
Under the foregoing scripture both terms, "thoughts" and ""Spirit" are imputed to God, as are each term imputed to mankind. So both coexist as does the sun and moon that coexist, revolving around the earth and its phenomenon of man.
Yet, I am also reminded of the text in which Jesus asks, "Which of you by giving thought can add one cubit to his stature?" Matt. 6:27
Answer: no one! Just like no one has created himself, herself, itself.
Thus, thoughts must not becloud spirit; must not encumber spirit ; must not bully spirit out of the way! Rather, our thoughts must yield to the spirit, whenever we "feel the spirit moving in our ♥️ hearts!"
This yielding, the act of submission may seem like a meek capitulation, which it is: Capitulation to the will of God, our Creator who gave life, is a meekness that empowers us!

These thoughts occur to me as I read of "Wedjahorresnet," a high official to the Persian conqueror , Cambyses, an Egyptian by birth, from the city of Sais, who lived in the 26th Dynasty, 550 -years BC.

The statue was dedicated by a high official named Wedjahhorresnet, whose tumultuous career spanned the Persian invasion and subsequent occupation of Egypt in the early years of the fifth century BC. WHY WOULD HE RISK IT?
Why would a billionaire white American man, with controlling interests in 500 companies, globally, and none publicly held, risk it all just to be US President? Desperation of some kind certainly drove him from the lap of luxury into the fish bowl of scrutiny ! Might it be that Now-President Donald Trump's alleged Soviet mafiosi global creditors, are all orchestrated by Vladimir Putin?
ANDREW JOHNSON AND DONALD TRUMP
There are two strong parallels between Andrew Johnson 's firing of Edwin Stanton, Lincoln's Secretary of War, and FBI Director James Comey's firing by Donald Trump. Johnson was nearly impeached and Trump is well on his way. There are other strong parallels as well between these two Presidents, one following Lincoln's post -Civil War assassination, the other following the nation's first black President. Both events engendered trauma in whites.
RECONSTRUCTION DECONSTRUCTION
It is astonishing to learn that in the summer of 1865, the voting rights and property rights of the former Confederate States of America's Rebel-traitors were restored to them by Vice President Andrew Johnson of Tennessee, following Abraham Lincoln's assassination, well before any such equivalent voting or property rights were first formally bestowed upon the former black United States of America's veterans, by the much later 13th through 15th Amendments by law!
In short, Andrew Johnson 's pardon and "Reconstruction" of Southern Rebels signaled, burnt, established loyal Union blacks' deconstruction!
These two simple facts mirror the degrading depth of ingrained white prejudice and inveterate ingratitude harbored by a majority of citizens' utter contempt for its black national saviors, who got no share of spoils!All spoils went to 'victorious' losers!

Here greatest damage was done! Rebels had voting and property, while black had none!
In letters 98-100, Edwin S. Redkey in his great book, A GRAND ARMY OF BLACK MEN (1993) publishes letters to the "Christian Recorder" and to the "Weekly Anglo-African" newspapers by USCT soldiers who express frustrations about the honors being denied to them, and the "black codes" still confronting them in summer 1865, p.223-227.
