VOTING IS SECULAR RELIGION
On Election Day Daddy worked at the polls, I am told, in Rockhill, Missouri. I was away at college or living in KC.
But coming up as a child , I remember going door-to-door handing out literature to prospective voters. And I recall election night television viewing! It was high drama in our house with Daddy providing expert commentary!
Voting was far more than ritual for our family. Voting was a secular religion! And Daddy and Mama were priest and priestess of the Coleman family cult!
