Extemporaneous musings, occasionally poetic, about life in its richly varied dimensions, especially as relates to history, theology, law, literature, science, by one who is an attorney, ordained minister, historian, writer, and African American.

DONALD TRUMP IS NOT ALONE
DONALD TRUMP IS NOT ALONE
President Donald Trump is not the only one who ignores, elides facts.
"Booker T. Washington's vision for the appropriate role of African Americans in American society was that of tradesmen." Writes Dr. Joy DeGruy in her book, POST TRAUMATIC SLAVE SYNDROME (2005). She then states: "Given
the limitations imposed upon African Americans in the South, it is easy to understand how he came to his belief. Unfortunately, many in our community bought into the notion that this was all we should aspire to. " p.125-126.
This stale salacious slander of the teachings of Booker T. Washington is what has "unfortunately" been brought forward, as fact, by black scholars, who are in a position to know better, and to write factually.
Booker T. Washington founded Tuskegee University in Alabama in 1881. He believed in education, industrial training and business ownership, according to the link below. Industrial training in the early 1900s was equivalent to computer coding and cyber technology today. Not that there was anything wrong with some black men being skilled tradesmen, which a class of freed slaves were, before later discrimination, laws, economic sabotage gave those lucrative jobs to white immigrants and exclusively white labor unions .

Too many omitted facts detract from truth, calumniate, and bring a writer's or speaker's integrity into sharp question, regardless of race, gender, politics, or point pursued.
Donald Trump is not alone in lying.
