THE GLOBAL BERRY GORDY, ,JR. IMPRINT
GLOBAL GORDY
Berry Gordy, Jr.'s algorithm and imprint have given to us the sound track of the '50s, '60s, '70s, at a minimum, along with stylish presentations too. By "us" is meant African Americans, next some hip white American folks, and lastly the whole world: Japan, Jakarta, Johannesburg, Jamaica, and the Jural Alps.
TO BE LOVED is Berry Gordy, Jr.'s incredible autobiography that I was blessed to read some years ago. If you have not read it, please bless yourself by doing so, immediately!
His harvest includes that vast catalog of who's who in the black American musical sound world. I need not name names. You know!
His algorithm (methodology)and imprint include his crucial, initial, Detroit-based family's financing and stewardship, Detroit based talent, together with his own rigorously creative austerity, and musical genius. He worked from the ground up in the booming era of black radio, disc jockeys, road shows, and record players. Motown, Tamla, Gordy, and other labels, were as natural to us as breath.
Berry Gordy, Jr.'s American, indeed global, imprint, life-changing spiritual impact, is as great as that of any nation's or creed's.
