ART
MUSINGS IN "ART"
"Art," if short for artifice or artificial, is a practice appropriately named.
Mankind is as artificial as natural. "Artificial" in having been created from material things; natural as in embrued with life spirit by nature, is mankind. As artist it self-mimics.
Some claim there to have been a time, when mankind did not exist.
That may be true, when viewed one way, and absurd, if viewed another.
Artificial and natural striations dot the landscapes of all our creations.
Can mankind create? Can anything else? Ants, spiders, bees, germs, birds all create. So, "no," more are there than man on earth to create.
If mankind is not the sole living creator, then, mimes, musicians, drawers, actors, writers, dancers, painters, sculptors , potters, carvers, builders, storytellers, singers, myriad others, including all manner of craftsmen particularly politicians, or statesmen , are also "artists;" meaning that through the works of their hands, bodies, and minds they create beauty, utility, history, rituality, within all "society."
These societies include chemical mineral, aquatic, terrestrial, plant, microbial, insect, animal, human...
"Con artists" use deceit or craft to "con" from life their existences ; no less artful is cunning, or its crown: the con game. Here, too, it imitates and simulates what it is not, to be able to get what it wants, by deceit.
Thus, con artists are as authentic as other artists; as all artists use some form of art; do use art to live.
All earthly artists also have natural counterparts in nature's universe, be they "con artists" or non-cons.
