TREASURY OF SLAVE NARRATIVES
Slave narratives are much more exciting than any other form of drama, because they are real instances of courage laced with danger and illegal too!
In addition to the present book, there are over 6,000 other slave narratives--mostly unread --that depict other ways of "Put'n On Ole Massa!"
There were also some white friends, brothers, true patriots, who risked their liberty and their lives to help the slaves escape! One such remarkable white man, who helped free 3,000 slaves was Levi Coffin, whose edited "Reminiscences" by Ben Richmond (2006), I am avidly reading now! He literally wrote his own book on "Put'n on Ole Massa," being a righteous Quaker!
