self-declaration and deceit
SELF-DECLARATION AND DECEIT
Does self-declaration make it so?
The Klan recently declared itself to be a Christian organization, not the racist, terrorist group which burns crosses and lynches! When I scoffed at that notion, a friend rejoined that ISIS was not Islamic, a fact we have frequently debated.
This appears to be principally a preoccupation of man, since it is inconceivable that other life forms would concern themselves with this question -- though they may!
Some animals may indeed ask: is that food or foe; is that a mate or an intruder; is that mine or his?
Deceit derides all divisions of life. Deceit is an acceptable mode of life for some life forms, man being one the best of them! That brings us right back to self-declaration.
Proof is required always due to the ever present possibility of deceit! So self-declaration does not by itself make something so.
Proof makes it so!
1 Thessalonians 5:21King James Version (KJV)
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
