GRACE IS COSMIC FAVOR
GRACE IS COSMIC FAVOR
Being vain and earthly we tend to look toward our own progeny as most befitting their predecessors' offices, rewards, wealth, honors.
"Chip off the old block" is an idiom describing that association.
That view is too short-sighted, akin to the royal blood canard, or automatic entitlement fiction.
Grace is usually a function of faith, works, environment, chance, and associations. Right people, right place, right time, right project, right breaks are the five critical right angles of grace.
Wealth, extraordinary wealth, or power, can be and has been, accumulated in one lifetime, by reason of the conjunction of these five right angles. That same wealth or power has been lost in one lifetime too, due to their lack!
Expecting that Martin Luther King, Jr.'s children or Elijah Muhammad 's children would have their fathers' gifts is to be unreasonable and unrealistic. Similarly foreseeing Bill Gates' or Mark Zuckerberg's fabulous riches is equally unreasonable.
God disseminates cosmic favor, indiscriminately, fortunately. Thereby, Barack Obama can be twice elected President and I can be blessed to write these lines!
