BE VERY SURE
Teasing out the truth presumes the presence of the truth in the subject being teased. It also assumes that the teasing technique is efficacious; and that the teaser can identify the truth, when it may be found therein.
What applies to truth, also, perforce, applies to other genres and subjects.
"Be very sure, be very sure, the anchor holds, and grasps the solid rock," go words to a familiar hymn.
