GOTTA BE BETTER THAN THEM
"We, colored folks, are far behind. Never mind how, or why, we got there. We are still behind. So, you cannot go the same speed that those ahead of you go. You must go faster than them. You must read when they sleep, and must work when they rest. You must be twice as good, ten times as good, to get the same as them."
So taught ole school black parents and grandparents to us. Today's youth must be taught this ageless, progressive truth! We are still behind. We still need their help, even as our forebears so desperately needed ours!
